Biography

R. SKY Palkowitz, is an avant-garde multimedia performance artist, director, and educator, who has performed numerous solo shows and taught acting around the country.


Sky holds an MFA from the U. of Iowa, is highly trained in the classics (PTTP at the U. of Delaware), has toured with the National Theatre for Children, and Imagination Theatre (Chicago), and has worked extensively with renowned artists such as Rachel Rosenthal, Irene Pinn, Roy Harte Theatre, Heinze Uwe-Hause, John Fleck, and Ken Roht, to name a few. Sky was the Executive Director of the Women’s Theatre Company Los Angeles (WTCLA) at the Hudson Ave. Theatre in Hollywood, a founding member of Rachel Rosenthal’s company, Fauve Conspiracy, and has served on the Board of the LA Women’s Theatre Festival. Favorite roles include “Nurse” in Romeo and Juliet (PTTP), “Josie” in A Moon for the Misbegotten (U. of Iowa), “Fraulein Schneider” in Cabaret (U. of Iowa), and “Zillah” in Tony Kushner’s, A Bright Room Called Day (Iowa Summer Repertory Theatre).
